I never really minded using olive oil as a vegan option for cooking, but I sometimes do miss the comforting flavor of butter.
I recently read a blog that announced Miyoko's coming to Trader Joe's. Naturally I became excited! Finally a vegan butter with a fancier flavor than Earth Balance, I thought...
During my next trip to Trader Joe's I spotted it in the refrigerated dairy section. I bought it, took it home and tried it on bread. WOW. I was super impressed. It melted like butter, it tasted like butter, and it had all of the physical properties of dairy butter. I dare to say that it tastes better than butter!
On the back of the packaging it says this, which reinforces my love for it even more:
"At last! A butter substitute to rival any European-style cultured butter. Made from organic coconut oil, this delicious spread will add buttery goodness to everything from your morning toast, to pastries, to baked potatoes. It even browns! Use it, spread it, love it!
And yes, I love it!
Hope you get to try it to. It's available at Trader Joe's.
